Technological support - The new, fully integrated computerised system now links customers, depots and vehicles with mutual advantages. As well as improving operational efficiency the system provides full transparency so that both operators and customers can be reassured by having accurate information instantly available.
Staff developments - the position of Distribution Manager at Llanwern has recently been taken up by Rob Pattison who is making a valuable contribution to the depot. Ian Pinkney has joined the team at Gurney Slade to work on scheduling alongside John Elms and Paul Withers to provide added support to this function.
Customer support - the joint approach with Civil & Marine continues and ensures we deliver the highest standards in the industry. Agreement on up-grading the C&M vehicle livery has been reached and the programme to enhance the livery has now started.
Tarmac Dry Silo Mortar in Croxden and Meriden continues to increase the use of CRW vehicles, the number has already gone from nil to 6 in the last four months. A new customer, Tarmac Southern Dry Silo Mortar, is starting a steady development. CRW have recently been appointed as the exclusive distribution provider for Paragon Cement at their recently opened Plymouth terminal. In addition, for Marley, we have just started to provide Purfleet with conditioned ash from Kingsnorth and Tilbury.
New office - we have recently opened an office at Ellesmere Port to enable us to manage the North Western part of our business. Martin Moffatt joined us at Ellesmere in June and the area now boasts 6 vehicles with more required soon.
"All these developments at CRW need a high level of commitment from our staff" says Frank Merx, Group Operations Director, adding "I would like to thank everyone for their continuing efforts".
